How the foundation is being built.

Setting up a society properly is slow and mostly invisible. We would rather show it than let the quiet look like nothing is happening.

• 22 April 2026 Seva Sangat Foundation is incorporated

  Filed with BC Registries and Online Services under the Societies Act. Incorporation number S0085142, with three founding directors and a registered office in Abbotsford.

• 22 April 2026 Constitution and bylaws adopted

  Six purposes filed covering Sikh teaching, heritage, education, community events, support for neighbours in need, and the eventual establishment of a place of worship. The Province of British Columbia model bylaws were adopted unchanged.

• August 2026 This website goes live

  Our first public presence, so that anyone can check who we are, what we may legally do, and who is accountable for it.

• Next Founding volunteer team

  Recruiting across the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver. This is the step everything else waits on.

• Next Bank account, insurance and food safety training

  A society account with dual signing authority, general liability and directors and officers insurance, and FOODSAFE certification for our kitchen volunteers.

• Then First seva days on the ground

  A blood donation drive, an organ donor registration table and a hygiene supply drive. All three can run without a kitchen and without a permit, which is why they are first.
